High Flying Mummy

Never was I so excited about something. God gave me a friend in Coimbatore only for this I thought.

It was K's wedding at Coimbatore, and for once I felt why not take Mom in the "Aeroplane" as she calls it.

I remember those days when used to listen stories about them, how I vowed travelling on one of them and more than that making Mom an Air traveler.

It all set up perfectly.
After the wedding, we came back to hotel to rest and then off to Coimbatore Airport.

I wanted Mum to soak in the feel and not be guest inside the Airport. As we reached early, well before departure, we sat outside the Airport and recalled her memories on the same.
She was excited and that made me feel that I have achieved something, for all these years there is something which I can boast off.

Enter the Airport, she is curious to know what those boards are, about security check, cabin luggage, the stickers, the ticket and what not.

As we wait for the boarding, she looks on curious travelers and hopefully she realized that her time has come today.

The Perfect setting, a small K-F flight, a shorter journey, well dressed bright Air hostess, as we enter I recall my earlier discussions that it would be similar to her last trip on Volvo bus, where she felt terribly cold.
I made sure she has her sweaters, socks on this time :)

We enter, and no prizes for guessing, she is on the window seat and is fiddling with seat belt.
As the plane starts to move, she peeps out of the window, gauging the speed.
The speed increases and at one point, as we are airlifted, she gushes we are flying now, oh that was Nirvana for me.
Peeping through the window, with the objects beneath disappearing, oh man it reminded me of old days where there was talks about humans, vehicles, buildings looking tiny and she experienced it.

Very composed on her flight, she was at home, I checked in regularly she was just perfect.
There comes the dinner and again I was taken aback by her enthusiasm and appreciation for the food.
Oh how can I forget the well lit Ring Road of B'lore, all the flyovers, amazing
At the touch down point, before I could say, she was up-to the mark to jump the gun. She felt we hit the ground
She waited patiently for the Europeans ahead to give her way and embarked from her maiden journey.

This time I made sure to write feedback for the service, and Mum had only one word for everything "Fine", "Fine" and I did share my thoughts on that form.

For all my salaries, savings, spendings and most importantly time, If I have to rate the most satisfying one, it has to be the Aeroplane tickets and the journey from Coimbatore to B'lore.

She has become an "Air-Traveler" now, a tag which I am proud off.
Mom I did it, I feel satisfied today and Thanks for everything.

Oh Feb 14...

As the world celebrates the Day, As the Love-Birds chirp more loudly, I am left gasping for thoughts.

The day begun as a usual Sunday, where i don't have any clue on how it if gonna wind up, unfortunately there were no plans of my badminton outing.

Done with the morning chores, a chilling news hits the street.
Our Family Doc who was very close to us, passed away due to cardiac arrest. Mom's devastated.
A nice person, whom We(me and Bro) never used to get bored off during our visits to his clinic.
Dad lost a companion whom he was banking upon for any small health issues, his clinic was multi specialty, catered to all.
He never hid his thoughts on how much my dad loves us.
Always playing prank with us.
Supported when I required it most, demolishing the rumors of cancer during my days.
Always a talking point, and open for discussions, a very nice doctor and a human.
He had the midas touch, with my Mum used to feel so much at comfort, now she is worried that there cannot be another like him.

A very warm person, humorous and we would definitely miss him for the rest of our life .

Now Why am I at home writing this, don't I have business on Feb 14 as the world?
Well that can be different post which will sure come up in some time and I hope to do justice to my feelings.

To Sum it up, a Feb 14 worth forgetting, but the doc will not be remembered because he would never be forgotten.

RIP Sir...

Tantrik Mummy...

For most us Mother is the first God and she is the face of numerous good things.
She is responsible for what we are today and her Love plays a crucial role in defining our future.
Fortunate are those who have experienced the Love of Mother through her or some other form, but others I don't know

Now without getting more emotional, back the purpose of this post, the "The Hiccup Mantra"

My Brother a Specimen in many ways (many say, he follows his brother), get hiccups some times and they run very deep.
All the conventional methods of drinking water, diverting his attention, talking does not help to stop.
So to start Mom started using the Scare tactics, which helped couple of times, but then he got used to the treatment and was never distracted after couple of attempts.

No Clue from where Mom came up with new tactic, and don a new role addition to her many roles (Dr, Lawyer, Mechanic, Electronic Engg, the list is huge..)

She picks up pieces of broom sticks, places one his between his fingers (in the leg) and one in hand. Murmurs something and here it is the Hiccups have vanished.

This happened couple of times, so I was thinking this was primarily coincidence.

Last week, the specimen comes running back very early home (10:00 PM), pretty early his standards.
He is suffering from a series of hiccups, has tried all kinds of conventional therapy, but no luck.
He has proudly advocated to his friends that Mom will shove the hiccups away in minutes.
I was curious to know if this works this time also.

Mom steps in like the Lady Hero (She is one), goes through her cores and ALAS the Hiccups vanish.

I am left astounded and no reason for me to doubt the Mantra and She has become a Tantrik also now.

The feathers on her cap never stops multiplying

Cheers to You MOM..
All Mom's are the Best
Now being a bit selfish..You are Best of All
